Learn Basic 3D in Five Steps
This is a beginner tutorial intended to
introduce you to the very basics of 3D.

Download 3D Software
First of all you will need to get yourself a 3d application in order to create, animate, and render your work. For this tutorial we will use Blender, a capable and most importantly Free application.

Download Blender click to open Blender website

Download Content
We will focus on the basics of getting content and importing it here.

Now let's get a 3D object to import.

Download Chair  click to download 3d chair

Import Object

Once you've installed Blender, open it to
import the object.

First, delete the selected cube.

Go to File, Import, then Lightwave (.lwo)
(There are many types of formats of objects. We are using .lwo for this tutorial. )

.lwo is a Lightwave 3D format. Other popular formats include Maya's .obj and 3D Max's .3ds
Type in the path to the .lwo object. Or navigate to the object using the window below.

Once object is located, click the Import .lwo button on the right.
You will now see the top view of your object in the 3D View window.

Render Scene
To see the object you now must "render" the scene. Go to Render and then to Render Current Frame.

Save Image
Save your rendered image by going to File then Save Rendered Image.

Select where you want it saved, give it a name, and you have made your first 3D graphic.
Should look like this:
